Heather Mary Stewart (Hall)

05/26/48 ~ 06/13/2014

Heather lost her painful struggle with cancer Friday June 13th at the Palliative Care Centre of NRGH with her close family with her to the end.

Heather is survived by her husband of 45 yrs, David, daughter Andrea (Craig) McCaw, special son Robert Boucier, and sister Sharon (Ron) Miller. She is predeceased by her parents Jim and June Hall, and her niece Rebecca Randall. She will be remembered with love by grandchildren, Caylee, Caleb, Jessica and Josh, niece Felicia, Christian, Brady, and Tianna. A large extended family and many friends across North America will miss her warm smile and friendly personality.

Born in Port Alberni, Heather got her footing on the west coast of Vancouver Island where families were supported by the booming forest industry of the day. Heather attended RCAF schools in Comox, BC, and Gypsonville. MB, and graduated from G.P. Vanier in Courtenay. She moved with her family to Nanaimo in 1968, before moving on to Vancouver to work for a small automobile company (Nissan). She returned to Nanaimo to be married in 1969, and construct a loving family and new home in East Wellington District.

Heather worked at “Thoms Fashions” in the 70’s and 80’s, was the voice of the “Shell Products” distribution agency through the turn of the century, and operated “Lotto Heather” within the Save-On, Woodgrove store, before retiring in 2008 to assist with the increased needs of her extended family.

Heather was a loving wife, proud mother, loyal friend, trusted consultant, dependable advisor, and community supporter and will be remembered and missed by all those who knew her.

A true Canadian, Heather loved to travel this great country, from Dawson City, YK, to the East Coast, but she always was happy to be back home here on “her Island”.

Heather has requested no service. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to  the Nanaimo Child Development Centre, or other charity of choice.

We want to thank Heather’s entire Care Team at NRGH, and Victoria’s Vancouver Island Cancer Center for their exceptional care and dedication. Heather was grateful for all the personal support she received over this short journey.

May she always be remembered
