In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother.
Pre-deceased by husband Mike, parents Jesse and Francis Miller and her nine brothers and sisters.
Mom is survived by daughters Joyce, Terry, Babe(Kevin) and son Rick(Josie). Also survived by sister Rose, seven grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren,5 great great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
After leaving home, Mom met Dad in Edmonton, fittingly enough at a baseball game. They were married in 1946. Living in a few towns in B.C., they moved to Cedar and then finally Nanaimo.
Mom worked while raising four children, as a waitress, at the Malaspina Hotel, the Shoreline and Diners Rendezvous. She also catered weddings and banquets.
After Dads passing, Mom went back to school and got her GED, which she was very proud of. She finished her working career at Zellers Department Store.
Mom loved baseball, was a Blue Jays fan. Mom never missed(almost50 years), until the pandemic hit, presenting Dad's memorial trophy to the 11-12 year old playoff winners.
Special thanks to the all of the staff of the hospitals sixth floor and palliative care,Ally, Brittany, Shaye, Tara and Jennifer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Moms memory to Nanaimo Minor Baseball.
