Harry Turner passed away peacefully on the afternoon of February 24, 2014 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Harry was predeceased by his first wife, Ila Patterson. He is survived by his loving wife, Verna Turner; sister, Vera (Frank) Roth; step-children: Loren (Bob) Hooton, David (Gisela) Hykawy, Linda (Garth) Markewitz, Richard (Barbara Judt) Hykawy, Barbara (James) Halipchuk, Harold Hykawy, Michael Hykawy, Gordon Hykawy, Beverly (Roger) Compain; many nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren: Carmen (Brad), Fawcett, Raylene Hooton, Brock Hooton, Crystal (Phil) Parenteau, Jen Gorda, Nick Gorda, David Hykawy, Brian Halipchuk; step great-grandchildren: Mason Fawcett, Kylee Fawcett, Bentley Gorda and René Parenteau.
Harry had a passion for hunting, fishing and gardening. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00am on March 11, 2014 at the Yates Funeral Chapel.
