April 16, 1932 to July 26, 2017

Gwyn passed away peacefully on the morning of July 26th. She is now reunited with her husband, Bryn, son David, and son-in-law Dave Wellwood. Gwyn’s surviving children, Susan, Timothy, and Philip, as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, will greatly miss her constant presence in their lives. Gwyn was born and married in the County of Somerset, England after which she and Bryn moved to Luanshya, Zambia where they lived for many years with their growing family. Later, they moved to Nanaimo where they were an active part of the community, owning both Rannigers Gifts and Confections, and later Stretch and Sew. Gwyn was an active member of the congregation at St. James and then later St. Pauls Anglican Churches. She was also a founding volunteer at Loaves and Fishes where she remained for many years, contributing her time and care on a weekly basis. This was only one of the several volunteer organizations she belonged to. Gwyn’s family extend their thanks to the marvellous nurses and doctors at NRGH for the care you gave to Gwyn and ourselves. Please join Gwyn’s family to share memories and celebrate a life well lived at the at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 100 Chapel St, Nanaimo, BC , on August 27th from 12 noon to 2 pm in the church hall. In Gwyn’s memory, either food or cash donations for Loaves and Fishes can be made during this gathering or, if you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation at one of the many locations in Nanaimo or to the organization directly.
