Coe, Gordon Peter

Passed away quietly of cancer with wife and family at his side. Youngest of 14 children born in Maynooth, Ontario. Predeceased by son Donald. Survived by wife of 56 years Velma Irene, Sons Bryan (Patricia), Robert (Julie), daughter-in-law Joanne, grandchildren Jason, Alyson, Leslie, Jan, Jamie, Amanda and large numbers of nieces and nephews in Ontario. Gord served in the Canadian Military for over 20 years across Canada and as a Peacekeeper in Europe and Egypt. After the military, he returned to Nanaimo which he had grown to love and worked for the City for 10 years. Gord will be remembered for his quiet dignity and gentle humor. He loved cards, billiards and the Leafs. Illness and the loss of Don took a toll, but his humour was still apparent even at the end. Special thanks to Dr. E. Weisenburger.
