It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon L Brimacombe of Nanaimo BC, born in Vermilion Alberta, Gord left this world with family at his side in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on the 18th day of May 2017 at the age of 76. Predeceased by parents Mary and Leslie and Step dad Cyril, siblings Robert (Marguerite), Allan, Marvin (Kat) and Linda, Gordon is survived by an older sister Rose (Dick). Gordie will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joanie (nee Simpson), children Don (Sherry), Lynda, Greg (Lynn) and Keith (Susan), and five grandchildren Cady, Wyll, Clinton, Morgan and Carter along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Gord worked as a truck driver, commercial fisherman and business owner during his expansive working career giving 100% in all that he did both at work and at home. In his retirement years Gordie enjoyed traveling the country with his wife Joanie by his side, spending time in Yuma or visiting family and friends. Every spring and fall you would find Gord along with Joan hanging out at their favorite fishing hole hoping to catch a few trout while enjoying the company of great friends and family. No service by request; in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Doctors and Nurses of NRGH Emergency and Fourth Floor for care provided to Gordon in his final weeks. We would also like to thank everyone for all their support and well wishes. ~ Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear ~ Author Unknown
