Gerald Frederick Frank

July 9, 2019

March 5, 1919 - July 9, 2019
The family announces the peaceful passing of Gerry Frank in Nanaimo Regional Hospital after a short illness. Gerry grew up in the depression in Saskatchewan, volunteered for the RCAF at the start of World War II, married Pearl MacDonald in 1941 and retired in Ottawa from the Airforce in 1966 with the amalgamation of the Canadian forces. They moved to Vancouver where Gerry had a second career with Standard Aero Engine, eventually moving to Vancouver Island not long after Gerry's permanent retirement.
Many friends in Nanaimo Harbour City Seniors carpet bowling club as well as friends and neighbours at Parkwood Village helped him celebrate his 100th birthday; the family held a birthday party where Gerry regaled everyone with a witty speech.
He was predeceased by his siblings, his wife Pearl, his good friend Georgina, and survived by his good friend Theresa, his sons Terry (Carol) and Jack (Heather) and his four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At Gerry's request there will be no funeral.
