June 12, 1938 – November 23, 2020
Gerald came into this world on June 12th, 1938, in Glasgow Scotland. One of nine children, he developed an early interest in electronics and a talent for seeing humour in any situation, which stayed with him all his life.
At 18 years of age, he moved to Newcastle, Australia with his parents and siblings, where he stayed for 10 years before moving to Toronto, Ontario. During that time he became an accomplished guitar player.
In Toronto, Gerald pursued his interest in electronics and, in the mid 1970’s, moved to North Vancouver where he opened a Radio and TV repair business that he operated until his retirement.
Always friendly, Gerald had a casual charm and was always ready with a wink and a joke. He had an ability to turn any situation into an amazing humorous adventure.
In 2010, he moved to Eden Gardens in Nanaimo, where he has received excellent care and attention from the wonderful staff for the past 10 years.
Gerald left the world on November 23rd, 2020 in his 83rd year. He is survived by his brothers Vincent and Leonard, his sister Ann, his sisters-in-law Jean, Geraldine, and Susan and many, many nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren. He is missed by all.
