SMITH - GEORGE (TED) HONNEYFORD
The family of George sadly announces his peaceful passing on August 22, 2002 at the age of 86,
George was born in Minitonas, Manitoba on October 12, 1915 the youngest of 10 children. Predeceased by his grandson Kevin Bates, seven sisters and two brothers. He will be missed deeply by his devoted wife of 61 years Hilda, daughter Margaret Bates (Fred), son Ron (Maggie) and one sister Millie. Papa to his grandchildren Gina (Peter), Tony (Glynis), Randy (Marrianne), Gordie (Andrea), Darren (Angie). He loved his family and enjoyed his great grandchildren Nicole, Cameron, Clayton, Emilia, Mackay and Benjamin. He sat many times proudly smiling at the marvel of these children. George will also be missed by his large extended family.
Private cremation by First Memorial. No service by George’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family invites friends to an open house in Celebration of George’s life on Thursday, August 29th, 2002 between 1-4 p.m. at 4130 Orchard Circle, Nanaimo.
