June 1, 1933 - November 15, 2018
It is with heavy hearts the family of George Cottle announce his passing on November 15, 2018 at the age of 85 years. George was a lifelong Nanaimo resident, growing up in the Brechin area.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; sons Doug and Richard; and sisters May and Mary. George is predeceased by his parents Lily and William; and sister Barb.
George loved baseball and hockey; especially the Nanaimo Clippers and Vancouver Canucks. You could find him hanging out at the ice rink watching hockey, known as a "rink rat" to friends. He worked in BC Forestry for many years before retiring from Harmac after 42 years. In his retirement, he loved spending time with his family, including fishing with Richard in the "Sea Runner", going to the racetrack with Doug to watch the sprint cars, and playing crib with friends.
