George Archibald 'Archie' McIntosh

It is with great sadness that the family of Archie McIntosh wish to announce his passing on Friday, December 11th at Woodgrove Manor in Nanaimo.
Archie was born in Sooke, BC to parents George and Margaret McIntosh. He met his wife Jean Wilson in Victoria and they were married in Victoria in 1954.
They moved to Kitimat, BC where he worked building housing for the new smelter. After a few years in Kitimat the family moved back to Victoria in 1959 and then onto Nanaimo in 1960.
Archie started a construction company in Nanaimo, G.A. McIntosh Construction Ltd in the early 60's and over fifty years built many homes, commercial buildings and schools around the Nanaimo area. Dad was also actively involved in the Nanaimo Curling Club, he was especially proud of his team representing BC at the Western Masters in 1992, in Duncan.
As well he was a member of the Mount Brenton Golf Club where he enjoyed many rounds with good friends. Some of his favorite golf games were the ones with his family.
Predeceased by Parents George and Margaret McIntosh and Brother Jimmy.
Survived by Wife Jean, Daughter Gail Miller (Doug), Daughter Anne Warren (Lyle), Daughter Lynn Breier (Mark), Son Bob McIntosh, Grand Children Vivian Miller, Eric Miller, Conor Houlihan, Emily Houlihan, Erin Breier, Scott Breier and Great Grandson Loxley Houlihan. Sister Barb Strachan (Ken) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to express their gratitude for the staff at Woodgrove Manor for the loving care dad received during his stay.
A celebration of Archie's life will be held when conditions allow.
May the pebble always be fresh, and the putts always fall.
