George Alvin Fairhurst “Alvie” born March 12, 1920 in Nanaimo, BC, passed away, peacefully at home, November 30, 2013. Survived by his best friend “Burgie #7”; sister, Edith Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Especially Henning, Ann and Sid.
Alvie was a lifetime member of the Nanaimo Yacht Club and the #256 Legion. He worked for the Ministry of Recreation and Conservation as systems planner, surveying many parks in British Columbia.
