In loving memory ~

Garth Stanley Traxler was born in Calgary AB on Sept 7, 1943, died Oct 19, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 59 beautiful years, Joan. His children Michelle ( John) Hamilton of Nanaimo and Rob (Sa'a) Traxler of Burnaby. His grandchildren, who he was so very proud of, Kennedy Hanna and Aliya Traxler, as well as his bonus grandchildren Taylor, Julia and Ashton Hamilton. His sister Bonnie ( Glen ) Madge of Victoria BC.

Garth worked for Dept of Fisheries for 39 years, most of his years were spent in Nanaimo at the Biological Station doing the job he loved, studying Salmon and fish health. He created many memories in the lab, as well as in the field in such places as Lake Babine, and interior of BC. He attended and spoke at many conferences around the world and was well respected among colleagues.

After retirement, he continued to travel many places with Joan. Some of their favorite places were Crete, Ireland, and Europe. Many hours were spent on the golf course socializing with friends.

Celebration of life will be held at Tigh-Na-Mara on Nov 24/24 at 12:30 pm-3 pm. Please see www.telefordtoneffboyd.ca for further memories. Please, no flowers, if you wish, donations can be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
