Garry grew up in Nanaimo and worked for Kelly Douglas Wholesale in Nanaimo, then Victoria. He later moved to Coos Bay Oregon after buying The Sunset Pub in 1989.
Garry loved auto racing and was happiest when watching. He and his big blue 57 Chevy bus could be seen towing some kind of race car to tracks all over the pacific north west.
Garry worked hard and dreamed big. He did things with so much enthusiasm that it caught on to those around him. His easy going gentle nature and genuine smile will be missed.
