Fredrick Thomas Herbert White

Fred was born in Calgary, Alberta, joined the R.C.A.F. in 1941, trained as a pilot and was attached to the R.A.F. 211 Beaufighter Squadron in Burma. He holds the Burma Star.

After the war, he got his B.A. at the University of Alberta, and Library Science degree at the University of Toronto.

Fred took the position of director of the Vancouver Island Regional Lbirary, where he stayed until retirement in 1986.

Left to miss Tut are Val, his wife and best friend for 62 years, his daughter Stephanie of Calgary, his son Bruce (Catriona) and grandson Liam of Vancouver.

There will be no service at Tut’s request. The family deeply appreciates the care given to him, on the fifth floor of the Nanaimo General Regional Hospital.
