PERKS,Ethelwyn MaudJanuary 11, 1911 -December 27, 2006passed away in Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Hospital, December 27, 2006. Born in Pittlewell Southend, England.Immigrated to Chilliwack, BC, Canada January 1954 with her family. Her • rst job in Canada was at Coquileetza Hospital, where she worked for many years. Mum often said that working at Coquileetza were the happiest days of her life.Ethelwyn had various jobs over the years, usually to do with care giving. She also did a lot of volunteer work at numerous hospitals and at Simon Cunningham Surrey.In later years Mum used her talents as a knitter to produce baby sets for the gift shop at Comox Hospital. She moved to Nanaimo with her husband Frank (deceased) in 1986 to be close to her family, where she joined the former Nanaimo Symphony Orchestra’s Auxiliary.Retired to Lakeside Gardens with Frank in 2002, where she knitted hundreds of premi hats for Nanaimo General Hospital. Ethelwyn moved to the Dwelling Place, December 12, 2006 due to failing health.Survived by her daughter Evelyn Santics, son Richard Perks, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.Mum sadly missed and so much more than a few written words.In lieu of • owers, please donate to your favourite charity.Arrangements entrusted to Telford’s Mid-Island Memorial Services.
