Brown, Ethan Brody

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ethan Brown (19) on Monday, August 31, 2015.

Ethan fought a hard battle against brain cancer with the support of family, friends and the community; yet through it all he chose to live life to the fullest, enjoying each opportunity he could. He is now free of all pain and discomfort, enjoying his new home in heaven; where he met up with his Nonna, his Uncle Wayne, his Grandma Honey and Big Poppa.

Ethan’s unique and wonderful ways made being around him a joy. Although he was a man of few words, when he spoke he made it count. He was known as an enthusiastic sport fan, especially his passion for hockey. As a die hard Bruins fan, a NMH player, ref and coach, Ethan was well known for encouraging others, and saying yes to any extra ice time he could get! He is gone but never forgotten, treasured in our hearts and missed by all whose lives he impacted.

He leaves behind his Mom and friend, Cindy Brown, his brothers, and hockey partners, Tyson and Kieran Brown, Poppa (Marvin Skytte), Aunt Cheri Brown, Uncle Charlie, Uncle Bill and Aunt Lori Olson, cousins Taylor, Jessica, Cody, Brandon, Christian, Aleisha, Ashlee and Hope, his many great aunts and uncles, cousins, Best friend Mac and all his other close friends and family.

A celebration of Ethan’s life will be held at Nanaimo Christian School, 198 Holland Rd on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1:00 pm.

In honor of Ethan, please wear your hockey jerseys, t-shirts or other sports wear to the service. In lieu of flowers, a trust account has been set up at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union in the name of Cindy Brown, in trust.
