We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ernest Arthur John Lemon on February 7th after a lengthy illness. He will be missed by his loving wife Dorothy, daughter Jennifer Robertson of Richmond, B.C., son Peter (Gloria) and six grandchildren.

Born in Victoria May 12, 1926, he came to Nanaimo in Sept. 1949 to teach, retiring in 1983 as vice-principal of Woodlands Jr. Secondary School. He was an active member of the Minor Hockey Association for several years as a coach and served a term as president. He enjoyed sailing, golf and sang with the Malaspina Choir. He served his Lord as organist at St. Paul’s Anglican Church and St. James Anglican Church for many years until he retired in August 2000.


A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 14th, at 1:00 p.m., Sands Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronald Risley and Rev. Kathy King of the Light of Christ Church officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
