ERNEST FREDERICK

MICHAELIS

Ernest passed away peacefully at age 94, leaving a remarkable legacy. Predeceased by loving wife Marjorie (1994) and sisters Mary, Joyce and Betty. Survived by caring daughters Raquel (Gene) and Susana (Chad), as

well as siblings George, Barbara & Railton (Sylvia).

Where to begin describing such a fascinating life? His was one of adventure, faith, hope, integrity and conviction, defined by his commitment to the God he believed in. He delighted in sharing his faith & imparting compassion toward God's creatures. He thrilled his little girls with amusing stories and illustrations, always with moral messages within them. And the 'good guys' always came out ahead! Ernest traveled the world, mastering several languages & living in many countries. He was especially fond of Brazil and its warm hearted people. He and Marjorie taught school there for ten years. He returned there many times in later years and received wonderful welcomes. As a young man, Ernest performed in the Lord Mayor of London's equestrian drill team and trained as a blacksmith. He later worked as a bull cook and janitor all over BC. Above all, he lived true to his beliefs, right to the end. He died bravely and gently. He will be forever loved and missed. Little did he know how cherished he was by so many people. Rest in peace, dear Papa.

Our deepest thanks to his siblings, friends, Dr. Raynor & Trillium Lodge for their exemplary care and outpouring of love in his last months.
