Eric Gordon Fawdry passed away July 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Nanaimo on January 10, 1945, spending all of his childhood and most of his adult life here. He loved his life, family, friends and workmates.
Work was fun for him, beginning with Texaco Gas station, a lifelong career with CT&S/BC Tel/Telus, and Eric's Technical Services. His favourite activities were: playing cards; golfing; socializing at "Timmy's"; computer club; attending every performance, game and activity his children, and grandchildren, were involved in; and being a "roadie" for his granddaughter's rock band. His greatest passion in life was to love, support, and encourage the people he felt blessed to know and consider family.
Eric was predeceased by his parents Robert and Evelyn Fawdry, and brothers Robert and Neil. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Norma (Parker), daughter Candice Plewa & son-in-law Michael, son Robert Fawdry III, granddaughter Kaliandra "Gpa'sStar"Fawdry grandson-in-lawMark,great-granddaughterEisleyFawdry"the light of his life", and brother Glenn Fawdry & sisters-in-law Janice and Lorraine..
Also feeling the loss are in-laws Donna & John Sherry, and Jack & Linda Parker. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, and special loved ones who knew him as Dad, Grandpa or Uncle Eric, so many to list, each one equally loved in his heart.
A Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity United Church, 6234 Spartan Rd., Nanaimo, BC, at 1:00 pm, July 21, 2018.€In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, or perform an act of kindness.
