April 14, 1941 - April 13, 2019
In the late hours of April 13, 2019, our dad Eloy was granted his wish to again be reunited with our mother. As much as there is sadness and grief, health issues limited how he wished to enjoy life, and now he is boundless and free to sing and dance as he once loved.

Eloy will be dearly missed by numerous family and great friends left behind. Son Eloy Fiandor Jr. (Cathy); daughter, Yamma Mack (Chris); granddaughters: Cheyenne, Alicia, Sofia, Raquel, sister Eria, nephew Luis, both residing in Cuba, bonus family Haimara (Pedro); grandchildren Amado (Lulu), Noah, and Emily.

Eloy was born and raised in La Habana, Cuba and later moved to Pinar del Rio where he was married and started a family. Eloy took a leap of faith in 1987 and immigrated to Canada with his wife and 2 children in search of a better life. Although not without sacrifice, a better life it was. The family settled and made a home in Nanaimo; a place where friends became family and happy memories were made. Eloy enjoyed singing, dancing and spending time with family, which he cherished above all else.

Special thanks to all the amazing family, friends, care workers, nurses, doctors that formed our village of love and care in recent years. Thank you to the staff of Standford Seniors Village for your ability to see and appreciate our loved ones for who they are as they come to join you, when as a family we fight to hold on to who they were in our minds and hearts. There is no funeral by request; a private gathering will take place to celebrate his life.
