Ellen Elizabeth Madill (nee Dickinson)
June 1, 1923 - June 9, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her son, Pat, in 1990, and her daughter-in-law, Sidney, in 2012. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her daughter, Cherie; her grandchildren, Janet (Colin) Cook, Ehren (Emily) Madill, Paul (Rae-Lyn) Hennessy, Adrienne (Mark) Guinn, Seann (Jenn) Madill, Wayne (Bridget) Hennessy; and her great grandchildren.
Ellie was born in Nanaimo and lived here her entire life. She and Chuck were married in 1943 at St. Paul's Anglican Church. Together, they loved watching their family grow from two children to six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest pleasure. Sunday night dinners with Grandma and Grandpa were always filled with fun and laughter. She loved to golf and was a member of the Nanaimo Golf Club for many years.
