Elizabeth ‘Carol’ Doumont (nee AuCoin)

April 25, 1946 – May 18, 2021
It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our dear Carol at the age of 75. Mom grew up in Nanaimo and lived her adult life in Lantzville, British Columbia, passing away on May 18, 2021. She was born April 25, 1946 in Vancouver. Carol passed away peacefully after bravely living with cancer for over two decades.
Carol is survived by her son Ronald Jr. (Ainsley) and daughter Kimberley Dawson (Dave), Grandsons Spencer & Connor, Sister Marilyn Morgan (Jerry), FianceĢe Michael Wickstrom, and many loved in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her dad and mom Thomas & Eleanor, husband Ron of 46 years, and Brothers Fred, Bob & Jim.
Carol was a majorette and softball player as a child. She married Ron and raised her two children in Lantzville. She was an amazing gardener spending many hours attending to her flowers with her accomplished green thumb.
Over the past 40 years she enjoyed her weekly sewing group, creating beautiful quilts, knitted/crocheted baby blankets and countless crafts. She loved playing cards and mahjongg. Carol had a great sense of humour, telling jokes like no other.
Mom loved to dance and enjoyed being with people, striking up conversation with strangers who most likely had some connection to someone else she knew.
As a mom she was her family’s biggest cheerleader. She attended all our events most recently supporting Spencer and Connor from the baseball sidelines. Her greatest gift was ensuring we all knew how much we were loved. She was a true treasure and her presence will be so greatly missed.
Special thanks to Dr. Tinker, Sung Lee, and numerous health care providers. So grateful for the team of angels SM, NC, JR, KK, and Jennifer who calmly supported her final journey.
The family has entrusted First Memorial with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or do something special for a loved one or stranger in Carol’s name as this is something she often did.
