Passed away at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on April 15, 2005. Predeceased in 2002 by her husband Doug Jones. Betty was born on September 22, 1933 in Carmarthon, Wales. She and Doug were married in Wales in 1954. Betty moved to Canada in 1955. to join Doug who had started a nursery business in the Haney area. They moved to the Nanaimo area in the 1960's and started Long Lake Nurseries, which they ran together until selling in the early 1980's. Until Doug’s passing, they lived on the waterfront in Lantzville. Betty then moved to Berwick On the Lake. Betty pursued her love of golf and charity interests so long as her health permitted. Betty is survived by four brothers, Dr. Harford Williams, Alun Williams, Peter Williams and Colin Williams all of Wales. She is also survived by two sisters, Joan Nolan, and Caroline Edwards, also Wales and many nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service for Betty Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at St. Phillips by the Sea Lantzville at 2:00pm.
