January 12, 1940 - April 23, 2021
It is with heavy and broken hearts we share with you that Elaine Christian passed away April 23, 2021.
She is survived by her loving husband Tom Christian, Daughters: Kelley Davis of Nanaimo, Karen Christian unknown and Kathy Christian of Nanaimo.
Gramma leaves behind five grandchildren, Tommy Christian, James Christian, Ryan Dorman, Robbie Davis, and Kimberley Williams.
Elaine Christian was born as a Wrigley, in Cadimin, Alberta on January 12, 1940. When she was 10 years old she moved to Port Alberni and graduated from ADHS.
She was a hairdresser until she met the love of her life Tom, and they started a very adventurous life together.
She was a woman that adored her family and welcomed everyone as her own. She had a zest for life when given the opportunity, she loved to dress up and light up the dance floor. She may have been petite, but she had a personality larger than life.
She had a way of saying what she thought in her own unique way and never making an enemy. He smile and that twinkle in her eye and warm personality made sure no one ever forgot her.
After dating for five years they married on April 21, 1962 and happily celebrated their 59th anniversary on April 21, 2021
During their life together they raised 3 girls and spent most weekends in Bamfield building, and often running a restaurant and store, motel and pub as well as trucking company in Port Alberni.
Elaine was most lovingly known as " Mrs. C" and was by far the hardest working woman!! Dawn til dusk she was never idle.
They retired to Nanaimo and they spent the next 25 winters driving their motorhome south as far as their favourite spot Mazatlán and would stay for 3 months making many friends along the way.
Elaine's battle with cancer was very quick and she did it on her own terms and gracefully. She passed away at her husband's side. Her wishes were to remain at home and that was made possible by her amazing husband and youngest daughter Kathy.
Much appreciation to our friends, Floyd Hawksworth and Randy Reinholt who visited or called every couple of days to check on "Mom". The palliative care team were so amazing and much gratitude to Dr. Pereira for being the most wonderful doctor.
You are so loved and gave our lives so much sparkle.
