Egon passed away after a lengthy struggle with cancer. He was predeceased by his first wife Ruth, mother of his two children, son Finn (Kathie), daughter Rose and Stepson Jan (Hanna). He is survived by his wife Elda, stepson Peter Byrne, stepdaughter Cathy Shakespeare (John). Dearly mourned by his six grandchildren, Krista, Julianne, Kari Lee Baker, Christian, Erin Byrne, Kristoffer Goldie.
Born in Denmark, came to Canada in 1955 with many certificates and degrees in the building trade. His work had to always be the best he could give.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Hospice.
