Born April 16 1943 at Vancouver's St. Paul's Hospital - Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 11th, 2020.
To Edward Gray of Winnipeg Man and Jean Elizabeth McDonald of Solcouts SK. Grew up in Burnaby B.C attending Burnaby South High School. Since he was 16 he drove a truck for his father. Particularly during the summer months when he was out of school. In 1963-68 he drag raced and set 2 NHRA Class records in S/DA and S/FA. Ed took up flying in 1968 Married his dream wife Brenda in Feb 1971 and Joined Pacific Western Airlines in Jan 1972. He flew the DC6, L188 and 15,000 hrs on the B737. ED was blessed to have his three sons, Jeff, Jason and Brad. Ed and Brenda spent a great deal of time traveling and achieved 40 cruises, They also spent many days in their 5th wheel. Golfing at Win Chelsea view was Ed's personal sport and man getaway. The greatest group of guys one could ever meet. The airlines were a wonderful experience. Ed sends his love and thanks to all his Friends.
Ed is survived by his wife Brenda, His 3 sons - Jeff, Jason, and Brad, his siblings - Fern, MaryAnn, Jim (Bev), Sister in Law Linda (Barry), and several nieces and nephews.
Ed will be sadly missed by his friends and family. There will be a celebration of life for Ed at 11am on Saturday, January 25th, at Sands Funeral Chapel in Nanaimo.
In Lieu of flowers we would request that donations be made to either Palliative care unit at NRGH, Vancouver Island Therapeutic Community (John Howard Society) - or to a charity of your choice. Thank you.
