Born in Norwich England December 27, 1921, died April 11, 2003. Ted is survived and will be fondly remembered by Marcelle, his loving wife of 59 years, son Gordon (Lois) of Powell River, grandson Eric (Yvette) and great grandson Mason of New Westminster and cousin Yvonne Hammond of Nanaimo. Ted retired a superintendent with B.C. Hydro in 1980 and became an even more avid golfer thereafter. He devoted many years of service to the Nanaimo Music Festival and to other organizations. Always the gentleman, he possessed a wonderful sense of humour and of compassion. Our family wishes to thank all those within the local health care system who made Ted’s final months and days dignified and comfortable, especially the staff at Traveller’s Lodge. In keeping with his wishes and instructions no service will be held. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Ted’s name to the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation or to Nanaimo Traveller’s Lodge.
