EDNA TESINI

August 15, 2010

Edna May TESINI

Died peacefully in Nanaimo Hospital on August 15, 2010, just 6 months short of her 100th birthday.

Born February 13, 1911, in Michel, B.C., near Sparwood, to Frank and Amelia Pollitt, Edna moved to Nanaimo at a young age, living the rest of her life in the South End. She married John Tesini on July 6, 1940. Edna and John, who lived in their home on Haliburton Street for 70 years, celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary in July. In her seventies and, as always, courageous, Edna travelled by air to England - first time abroad and first time on a plane. Her motto in trying times -- "Just get on with it."

Predeceased by her brothers: Harry Pollitt and Jimmy Pollitt; her beloved spaniel, Sandy; and many dear friends.

Missing her are her husband, John; nephews, Earl Pollitt, Bob Pollitt (Dagny & Scott), and Lou Maggiora (Hanna); nieces, Adele Anderson (Phil), Barbara Jones (Gaby), and Marie Wilkinson. Also missing her, her 99 year old cousin (and sister in heart), Flo Brunt, and Flo's daughter, Shirley Kosich (Mike).

A Memorial Tea will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Wexford Creek, 80 Tenth Street, Nanaimo (near "Tim Horton's," Chase River). We will be welcoming family and friends between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. Please join us to share your memories of our special lady. Flowers gratefully declined. Should you wish, please donate to a charity of your choice in Edna's memory.
