EDNA ARNOTT

May 8, 2011

Edna Arnott, lately of Kiwanis Care Centre, New Westminster, BC, peacefully passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, at 90 years of age, with blessings from her great-granddaughter who sang lullabies to say good-bye. Edna was predeceased by her husband, W. Thomas Arnott , after a very long and happy marriage. They started their lives together in Toronto, moved to Kingston, and subsequently to Thunder Bay (Port Arthur) where they raised their four children. Edna was an artist in oils and water colours, as well as a potter, and taught others to enjoy ceramics as much as she did. She was also a professional seamstress and doll maker. After moving to Nanaimo, BC, in 1969 and then to Nanoose Bay, Edna continued her love for art, working in water colours, potting, making dolls, doing other crafty things, and taking care of her “buddy”, Tom. Edna is survived by her children - Bob (Joan) of Thunder Bay; Brian (Betty) of Weymouth, Nova Scotia; Judith of Surrey, BC; and Sue of Vancouver, BC; her grandchildren - Angela Clish of Burnaby, BC; Jamie Arnott of Thunder Bay and Sheila Arnott of Victoria, BC; her great-grandchildren - Ariana Clish of Burnaby, BC, and Kienen Arnott of Victoria, BC; and her remaining sibling, brother Allan Macdonald of North York, Ontario. Our sincerest thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at the Kiwanis Care Centre who always took marvellous care of mom, and who all loved her. Thanks to Dr. Yan So, Coquitlam, for his ongoing care. According to Edna’s wishes cremation has taken place. She will be rejoined with her life partner at a later date.
