Edith Irene Anderson
March 6, 1923~January 31, 2010
Irene passed away peacefully at NRGH on January 31, 2010. Born and raised in Markinch, Saskatchewan, moved to Regina, Ottawa, Montreal, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon, came as part of life married to a banker. Irene and Glen moved to Nanaimo in 1988.
Predeceased by her husband Glen, she was a loving mother to sons: Doug (Linda) and Gord (Marg); 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She is survived by sister Winnie and brother Bert.
Irene enjoyed times with family and friends, travel, swimming, bridge and golf.
Many thanks to all the staff at Dwelling Place for providing the quality of life and care she rightly deserved. Thanks also to Sam, Kathy, Kristy and all the nurses on the 6th floor who helped comfort Irene in her final hours.
A service will be held for Irene at First Memorial on Bowen Road on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
