SCOTT, Edgar Thomas Edwin
passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 27, 2004 at Malaspina Gardens, Nanaimo, BC. He is predeceased by his mother Agnes, and Father Samuel Edgar, brother Lawrence, sisters: Mildred MacDonald and Gertrude Graham. Survived by his loving wife Letha and his son Roland (Elizabeth), granddaughters; Avary Scott and Tayla Scott and daughter Carole Anne, his first wife Anne,sister Audrey (Alex) Kowalchuk and family, step son Boyd, six stepgrandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Edgar was borne in Goodeve, Saskatchewan. When he was 16 the family moved to Alberta and then to Rocky Mountain House. Edgar had a passion for the sawmill business and had his own sawmill. He later married and moved his family wife Ann and son Roland to Nanaimo, Vancouver Island where his daughter Carole Anne was born. He continued his career in the sawmill industry, this time as a sawfiler, which he was very successful and well appreciated for his ability and work ethics. He later moved to Nanaimo and worked until retirement from Harmac at age 65. In his retirement years, he met and married his second wife Letha. They had many happy years with their little dog Andy, and working in their garden. He loved his antiques and was always busy building and fixing anything and everything. A good father and husband he provide support, advice and was always a good listener to his many nieces and nephews, a part of his heart was always in Alberta. Edgar was well loved and respected for his honesty and integrity and gentle nature. The family wish to thank the staff at Malaspina Gardens for their loving, compassionate care of Edgar during his year there. A Celebration of Edgar’s life will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2004 1:00pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, One Newcastle Nanaimo, BC. with Pastor Barnes officiating. Followed by interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. He will be greatly missed and always loved.
