Williams, Edel Benedichte
Surrounded by family and friends, Edel Benedichte Williams (Tulla) nee Kristiansen, passed away January 24, 2015 at the age of 80. Edel was born June 4, 1934 in Skaun, Orkanger, Norway. She moved to Canada in 1955 and met her husband in 1957. She was a Dental Hygienist, worked in retail, and was an exceptional homemaker.
Edel had many joys in life: she loved spending time with family and friends, baking and cooking, knitting, needlepoint, fishing, entertaining, playing bridge, travelling to warm places, decorating her cozy home and finding treasures at flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores.
Edel is survived by her husband and soul mate, Les Williams, her brother Kare, and sister Greta, her children Rolf, Vera (Ted), Wanda and Ingrid, her grandchildren Jamie (Siobhan), Joshua, Rachel (Brandon), Kjirsten (Rob), Maja (Stephen), Aidan and Hannah; as well as adored great grandchildren, relatives from Norway and many dear friends. Edel was predeceased by her father Karl Birger Kristiansen and her mother Maren Eidsmo.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Edel’s life on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, B.C.
