September 11, 1932 - March 16, 2019
Bowell, Douglas Mackenzie passed away peacefully on March 16, 2019, at the age of 86. Doug will be remembered for his great sense of humour and being a true gentleman. Born September 11, 1932, in Vancouver, BC, Doug relocated to Nanaimo and worked as heavy duty mechanic for Berk's Intertruck and was an early member and avid participant of Grandview bowl racing. Even late in his life, Doug enjoyed watching Nascar every Saturday.
He is predeceased by his brother John and leaves behind his sons, Stephen Mackenzie Bowell (Lisa) and Jeffery Douglas Bowell (Katie), nephew, Kyle Bowell, and niece, Talia Bowell. A small celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date.
