Born January 29th, 1940 in St. Boniface, Manitoba and raised in Woodlands, Manitoba. Passed away suddenly on December 22, 2005 in Nanaimo BC. Predeceased by parents, Torger and Martha and nephew Wesley Hannah. Survived by loving wife Sherry, daughter Brenda; sons Duane and Todd, grandchildren Tyler, Jolaine, Maddy and Emma; brothers, Ted (Joy), Carl (Edie), Gordon (Peggi), Gary, Lloyd (Betty); sisters, Astrid (Fred), Dorothy (Ken) and Viola (Alvar) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Doug served in the RCMP for some 28 years and was posted in Hope, Prince Rupert, Williams Lake, Burnaby, Qualicum Beach, Port Alberni, Lytton, 100 Mile House, and Nanaimo, BC. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 7th, 2006, with a reception to follow at the Lantzville Legion at 7227 - Lantzville Road at 3:00 pm. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and his many many friends and team mates. In lieu of flowers - donations may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
