It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Spencer on January 9, 2018, at the age of 90.
Predeceased by her husband Roy, she will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Gayle (Stuart), son Grant, granddaughters Caralee, Kimberlee, Haley and Casey and her great-grandchildren Kyrian, Preston, Ellieanna and Devin.
Dorothy loved to spend time with her family and friends. She had an adventurous, independent spirit and travelled extensively. She enjoyed working for Robinson Construction for 32 years and after retiring, she pursued hobbies, especially her treasured needlework, for which she won many awards.
Dorothy was a great cook...much to the delight of her family! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank-you to the VIHA Home Care Support staff for their excellent care and compassion. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Dodo and to the doctors and Nurses at NRGH for their care.
There will be no service at Dorothy's request. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
If desired, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
