December 20, 1920 - October 21, 2016

Dorothy Mae Lunn was born December 20, 1920 in Fairview, Montana and passed away in Nanaimo, BC October 21, 2016 in her 96th year.

Her late parents, George and Clara Mae Tompkins and family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in the 1920’s. Mom’s siblings Kermit, Irene, and Don have predeceased her, as have husbands Leslie “Les” Draper (1966) and Fraser Lunn (2000). She is survived by son Ken (Maureen) Draper, grandchildren Sean (Kate), Wendy (Chris) great-grandchildren Dylan and Helen, daughter Lorraine (Wayne) Chelak, grandchildren Kristen (Harold), Brent (Lisa). Survived also by stepdaughter Joanne Tait (Cal), stepson Charles “Chuck” Lunn (Mary Anne) his daughter Sharlee, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was dearly loved by her family and friends. Most important to her were family, friends, faith and community. Her optimism, resilience, generosity, and many talents were her most outstanding characteristics.

We especially wish to give our heartfelt thanks to VIHA’s Home Support Staff who provided excellent care for mom for sixteen months, as well as the staff at Dufferin Place, Nanaimo for their compassionate care while she resided in the Cedar Unit. Thank you also to staff at Yates Funeral Service and Crematorium for their guidance and care.

No service will be held in Nanaimo.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Beechmount Cemetary, Edmonton in 2017 when Mom’s urn will be placed in Les’ plot.

We treasure the memories
