YOULDEN, Dorothy Grace
(nee Hawthornthwaite)
Affectionately known as Dot, passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital October 8,2008 Born in Nanaimo September 17,1931. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Youlden, by her parents Kate and Gil Hawthornthwaite, Brother Thomas Hawthornthwaite. Left to mourn is her daughter Lynn Gosvig and Darren Mancuso of Courtney, son Daryl (Cathy) Youlden, granddaughters Gessica and Billie of Victoria. And her partner and very dear friend Fred Jauck of Victoria, brother Bill (Martha) Nanaimo, Brother in law Bill (Beth) Youlden, Sister in law Irene, Ladysmith, and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. Dorothy lived all her young years in Ladysmith and North Oyster District graduating from Ladysmith High School in 1950 going on to receive her Registered Nurse training from Victoria General Hospital. She worked in Victoria General for many years, going on to teach nursing at Camosun College and as Director of Nursing in the Gorge Hospital, continuing on to make a life’s career in the Medical field. She belonged to many organizations and clubs. The many hours of work she did for Abbey House Senior Home in Victoria, she never really retired but continued to volunteer her time to all those who needed her, Dot will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on October 18, 2008 at 2:00pm at First Memorial Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Royal Oak, Victoria.
