Feb 22, 1930 - Feb 7, 2018
Our family very sadly announces that our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Dorothy Miller, passed away in Nanaimo on Feb. 7, 2018 at the age of 87. Dorothy Anne Dillon was born on Feb. 22, 1930 in Vancouver.

She moved to Nanaimo in 1951 after marrying George Miller, the love of her life. Dorothy missed the big city of Vancouver, but quickly grew to love Nanaimo where she lived for the rest of her life in the red brick house built by husband George.

Dorothy enjoyed family, friends, dogs and cats, and Vancouver Canucks hockey. Favourite activities were family dinners and get togethers, sewing circle, going to the movies, swimming at Departure Bay and camping with George at Lake Cowichan.

Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter Corinne and son Tom.

She is survived by her loving husband George (her partner for 67 years); children Susan (Rick) King, Sharon (Alan) Sterne, Steven (Joy) Miller; grandchildren Jennifer, Melissa, Chris, Matthew, Jeff, Adam, Laura, Megan, Greg; great grandchildren Jonah, Jayda, Jaiden, Avery, Bentley; sisters-in-law Ada Davie, Lucille Miller, Dorothy Miller; cousins; many nieces and nephews.

The family thanks Dorothy's friends who made her life so enjoyable. Thanks also to Dr. Van Rensburg, the staff at Nanaimo General Hospital and emergency responders for their compassion and care.

Honouring Dorothy's wishes, there will be no funeral.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at a later date.
