smith, Doris, passed away peace ful ly on May 30, 2002, at the Kel ly Care Cen tre in Sum mer land at the age of 89 years. Pre de ceased by her hus band W.E. (Ted) Smith in 1992, Doris will be lov ing ly missed by her only child, daugh ter Bev er ly (How ard) Cock ell of Sum mer land, BC., by five grandchil dren: Keith Cock ell of Ocean Falls, BC; Dar yl Cock ell of Port Har dy, BC.; Char lene (Craig) Mac Ken zie of Co qui tlam, BC; Di ane Cock ell of Sum mer land, BC.; and Bren da Cock ell of Vic tor ia, BC, by five great grandchil dren: Em i ly, Dust in, Shel by, Co lin and Cay ley, by two sur viv ing si blings: broth er Ray mond Leigh and sister Gla dys Wheat croft, both of Na nai mo, BC, and by many niec es and nephews. Doris met and mar ried Ted in 1934. They lived in Na nai mo, BC un til the late 1980’s, when they moved to Sum mer land. Doris will be re mem bered as a de vot ed wife and moth er. A grave side serv ice, led by Pas tor Rick Gay, was held in Can yon View Ce metery, Sum mer land, BC, on June 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m., where Doris was laid to rest be side her hus band, Ted.
