Davis – Doris Jane (1914 – 2009)
Doris was born in Belleplain, Saskatchewan and passed away on January 27th, 2009.
She was predeceased by husbands Stanley Green and Melvin Davis and brother Henry R. Nash. She is survived by her nephews Stewart and Wayne Nash of Lake Cowichan, sister-in-law Doris Nash of Nanaimo and cousins in Vancouver. Doris resided in Vancouver, Woodfibre, Port Coquitlam and Courtenay, moving to Nanaimo on her marriage to Mel. For many years Doris was an active member of the B.C. Arthritis Society. She also spent many hours crocheting squares for Blankets Canada. She was an avid hockey fan and hardly ever missed a Saturday night game. During the game the ringing of the phone was ignored.
Special thanks to Mavis Lockyear, the landlord and others of the Ocean Vista apartments for all the acts of kindness, care and compassion given to Doris. Your support was appreciated. Thanks also to Dr. K. Mann for his care of Doris for many years.
