Opheim, Doreen May (nee Blackwell)

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Doreen on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009. She was predeceased by her parents, Laura & Fred; her son Douglas; brother Freddie and sisters: Gladys, Joyce and Dorothy.
Doreen will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Orvald; sons: Dennis (Carol), and Ron (Terry); her brothers: Don (Lois), and Ray (Wilma); grandchildren: Brodie, Carly, Maigan, Andrea, Lindsey and Cory; great grandchildren: Dayton, Makenzie, Mya, Mikko, Julian and Ben and many nieces & nephews.
Doreen enjoyed camping, bowling and all sports (especially hockey). In her younger years she was a Girl Guide Leader, loved to skate and socialize with many friends and relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 1:00pm at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1720 Bowen Rd, Nanaimo.
