Kendall, Doreen
We are sad to announce the passing of our mother Mrs. Doreen Kendall.
Predeceased by Mr. James Parkin in 1967 and Mrs. Annie Marie Parkin in 1989.
She is survived by her son Gordon A. Chorley, daughter-in-law Sandra, daughter Patricia Chorley, grandson James Arthur Chorley and great grand-daughter Hailey Bercheid.
Born in Kirby England in 1910, she came to Canada and lived as a child in Taqueski, Saskatchewan, later moving to Regina as a teenager. Her interest at that time was opera, being the lead Soprano in Gilbert and Sullivan. In the 40’s she made her home in Nanaimo and Ucluelet. She worked as a salesperson at Jean Burns and later became a practical nurse at the Cowichan Valley Hospital until retirement in 1975. She was also an avid horsewoman, owning and training many horses over a period of time in the 50’s and 60’s.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 11:00 am at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo.
