February 7, 1952 - September 13, 2018
It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Don died suddenly on September 13 while enjoying one of his favourite pastimes.

Don was born and raised in Ontario and moved to BC in 1974. He secured a job as a chokerman in the forest industry and then worked his way up over the next 38 years, finishing his career as a log buyer for Island Timberlands. Don loved kayaking, fishing, curling, golf, Maui, and especially being a grandpa. He gave his time to various organizations after his retirement.

Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nancy; daughter Courtney (Luke); son Nicholas; granddaughters Adrianna and Breelynn; sisters Debbie (Mike) and Janet (Joe); brothers: Larry, Dave (Larysa), and Rick (Sue); as well as many other relatives and friends.

Don was a kind, compassionate, and generous man.

A celebration of life will be held between 10 am - 12 pm on October 14, at Nanaimo Golf Club. Condolences may be made on Sands Funeral Home website.

If desired, a donation can be made to Habitat for Humanity Mid Vancouver Island or an organization of your choice.
