Don passed away peacefully in NRGH on Oct 19, 2014 surrounded by family after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Lynda (of 45 yrs), daughter Laurie (Ian), son Lawrence (Heather), four grandchildren Julia, Dawson, Tyler, Dylan, six sisters, three brothers, nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews. Don was an avid fisherman & hunter. Loved being with the grandkids growing tomatoes in the greenhouse. He was a very kind man with a generous & loving heart and a very gentle soul. Thank you to family & friends. Your love & support guided us through our journey. Thank you to the nurses in Palliative Care for taking such good care of Don when we weren’t there. A Celebration of Life will be held on Nov 1, 2014 from 1-4pm at the home of Donna & Ed Heese. 442 Milton St. Nanaimo, BC. Don will be deeply missed by family & friends.
