Baxter, Donald ( Don )
Donald ( Don ) Baxter passed away at the age of 75 on August 16, 2016.
Don leaves behind his wife of 55 yrs. Norma, his daughter Vicki (Ken), son Don Jr (Diana), four grandchildren, Alan (Tara), Mandi (Cody), Drew (Jennifer) and Daniel, and three great grandchildren , Autumn, Riley, and Jayde, His sisters Pat and Rosalie, brother-in-law Gordon Kelly (Sharon) and numerous nieces and nephews..
He was a loving husband, father and a wonderful Papa. He loved to hunt, travel and fish and was an avid Clipper fan. Don loved spending time with his family and friends but his biggest joy was his grandkids and great grandkids… in the last year they were truly what brought a smile to his face.
Don was a firefighter for the city of Nanaimo for 29 years. During that time Don served many terms as the President of the Nanaimo Professional Fire Fighters Association (local 905), and many terms as trustee of the BCPFFA. Don finished his career as Assistant Chief of Training.
The Family would like to thank the numerous friends and family that have helped out in the last year, especially the Fire Fighters that responded many times, and for their compassion and undying respect that they had for Don.
A celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
