We are heartbroken to announce that Dezso (Dez) Jakab passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 28, 2021, aged 66, in Nanaimo at NRGH.
Dez was born in Szeged, Hungary before he immigrated to Nanaimo, BC with his family in 1995. Dez is survived by his loving wife Maria of forty-two years; brother Erno (Edit); son Lorant (Gyongyi); daughter Hedi; nephews Attila and Tamas; grandchildren Levi and Lili; dog Pillow.
Dez was a very kind, loving man with an incredibly generous heart, who dedicated his life so that his children could have a better future. Dez could fix anything for anyone and he was an innovator at heart. He was the type of person who never gave up, for any defeat, he had a solution.
Dez will be dearly missed, fondly remembered and live forever in our hearts.
The family would like to express their profound appreciation and thanks to the BC Paramedics and the NRGH Emergency Team.
There will be no funeral service by request. A Celebration of Dez's Life will be held on Father's Day in 2022, depending on the Covid situation.
