February 27, 1954 - June 3, 2021
With her loving family by her side, Debbie passed away quietly on Thursday June 3, 2021 at Surrey Memorial Hospital after a valiant fight against cancer. Born in Dunnville ON on February 27, 1954, the second of six daughters to Mary (nee Kenney) (1990) and Joe (2001).
Survived by her loving and dedicated daughter, Tamara, of Vancouver BC and by her devoted partner, Barry Threlfall. Debbie is also survived by her dear friends and sisters, Brenda of Nanaimo BC and Bev (brother-in-law Dave Easton) of Welland, as well as her sisters Kathy, Jo-Anne & Barb.
She is the dearly loved Aunt to Dylan Moore (Elise Samson) of Nanaimo BC, Josh Easton (Hye Jung) of Seoul SK and several other nephews.
Debbie lived much of her life in Welland working at Canadian Tire Acceptance and Niagara Regional Assessment Office, being very active in Ladies' Baseball and Welland Rosettes with Tamara.
After moving to British Columbia, she continued her love of baseball evolving into the ultimate Blue Jays Fan, rarely missing a game and often travelling to Seattle to see her favourite team. She was also a dedicated fan of the Jays''A' Team, the Vancouver Canadians. Debbie retired from many years of dedicated service to the at-risk children of Vancouver area via the Ministry of Child & Family, having previously lived and worked in Nanaimo.
Following Debbie's wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be scattered over the Strait of Georgia. The family held a private service and are planning a Celebration of Life once Covid restrictions lift.
