It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David "Davey" Richard McFadyen, 75, of Bamfield, British Columbia on January 12, 2022.
Davey was born in Hamilton, Ontario on August 6, 1946, and moved to British Columbia in the mid 70's where he chose to plant his roots on Vancouver Island.
He resided in Bamfield and Nanaimo on and off for 30 + years where he did notable work with the Huu-Ay-Aht First Nations Youth (K.I.D.S) and was looked up to by members of the community for being a great friend and someone who was always willing to lend a hand. His love for animals and kind heart will forever be remembered by those who met him.
Davey passed away in Port Alberni, British Columbia after succumbing to health issues. A Celebration of Life for Davey's friends and family will be held in Bamfield at a later date.
He is predeceased by his parents Archie & Beryl (White), and his oldest sibling Linda and her partner Gord.
Davey is survived by his children and their partners; Julie (Rob), Scott (Mary), Daniel, Jacob (Patricia), Allison & Elizabeth (Jacob), his siblings Jeannie (John), Gordie (Linda), Debbie (Luke), Bill (Claire), Mike (Linda), Jim (Selma), his nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
