SHINNAN, David A., It is with deepest sorrow that we announce after a long illness the passing of our dearest husband, father, and grandfather on March 26, 2003 in the Nanaimo Hospital at the age of 78. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on May 31, 1924 and moved to Nanaimo in 1951. He served in the R.C.N. from 1942 to 1945, also served in the Nanaimo Militia. He worked for Canada Safeway for 30 years. He was predeceased by his parents James and Margaret, brothers Robert and Bill. He will be forever missed by his wife Betty of 55 years, also by his children Betty Anne (Dave), Robert (Angie), Leslie (Burnie) and Lyle, 4 grandchildren; Tammy, Scott, Andrew and Ashley, 2 great grandchildren Jacob and Breanna. No service by his request. Cremation to follow. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation. Dave’s humour brightened those around him, and has touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.
